Membership and Rules

Membership of the Woodham and New Haw Horticultural Club gives access to monthly Club Meetings and all the other Club outings and activities.

The current annual membership fee of the Club is £6/person and is due in January each year to our Treasurer.

The membership card includes details of all events and coach trips that are planned during the year. Our monthly social evenings are held at All Saints Church, New Haw Church Hall, Woodham Lane, New Haw. Directions to the venue are on the Contact page.

Additional information is always available on the website. For members who do not have access to Club’s website, a Newsletter is produced on most months and all the Club's activities are on the membership Card.

Benefits of membership include:

  • Entry to social evenings at £4 per person (£5 for visitors)

  • A number of other events, including coach trips and outings.

Our Club Members come from far and wide, across the boroughs of Runnymede, Elmbridge, Woking and Spelthorne.

If you are interested in joining the Club, why not come along to our next Monthly Club Meeting to see what we are about and get a flavour of the Club?

Please use the Contact Form for any queries relating to membership or visiting our next social meeting.

The Club adheres to an approved set of rules that can be viewed via the Club Rules download.

The Woodham and New Haw Horticultural Club Rules are maintained by the Club Committee. Changes to the Rules can only be made by members approval at the AGM or, if necessary, at a Special General Meeting. They can be viewed via the Club Rules download.

Insurance

Insurance is always an important factor these days, and the Club has Public Liability Insurance for the sum of £5 million. Details of the insurance cover can be obtained, on request, to the Club Treasurer. The intent is to provide members with public liability insurance at all Club events.

Banking

The Club banks with Barclays Bank with on-line and contact-less card facilities. Only our Treasurer pays out funds (and any cheques carry two signatures). We ensure that the Committee always has a Statement of Account from the Treasurer prior to a Committee Meeting. Additionally, we have an independent financial examiner check and certify the Annual Accounting Statement which is prepared by the Treasurer.
